Sport & Performance Psychology

I get it - athletes and performers are just wired differently. The early morning practices, the late-night rehearsals, the exhausting training sessions…the competitive mindset is just different. And you might need someone who has been there to really understand you.

I have clinical experience working with current athletes, former athletes who maintain their sport-oriented mindset, artists, performers, and exercisers of all varieties address their mental health and well-being.

Please note - I only work with adult clients ages 18-years or older. At this time, I am not called to work with children or adolescents, even high-performing young athletes with professional or collegiate aspirations.

Sport & Performance Psychology in therapy with me may include:

  • Maintaining balance between all aspects of life

  • Finding worth beyond skill level or achievement

  • Creating a well-rounded identity

  • Retirement and shifting identities:

    • Player-to-coach

    • Performer-to-instructor

    • Participant-to-spectator

    • Professional-to-recreational

  • Positive (or neutralized) self-talk

  • Developing intrinsic motivation

If you are looking specifically for performance enhancement services, I would suggest finding a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) who is certified through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology
